The Pavilion Announces 2022 Performing Arts Season Lineup
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – In keeping with the venue’s mission of fostering new audiences and enhancing an appreciation for the arts, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is excited to announce its 2022 Performing Arts Season, featuring exciting symphonic experiences, family-friendly events and more!
The Pavilion will kick off the performing arts season with a concert and movie on June 16 at The Little Mermaid – Film with Live Orchestra, sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital – The Woodlands! As Disney’s animated classic plays on the large LED screens, the Houston Symphony will perform the film’s Oscar® and Grammy®-winning score live on the Main Stage. To make the evening even sweeter, free ice cream will be available to guests (while supplies last) when gates open in the North Plaza.
On July 27, pay tribute to The Beatles with the Houston Symphony at Classical Mystery Tour. The four musicians may look and sound just like The Beatles, but Classical Mystery Tour is more than just a rock concert. The show presents more than two dozen Beatles tunes performed exactly as they were originally recorded. Hear “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, experience the beauty of "Yesterday" with an acoustic guitar and string quartet, enjoy the classical/rock blend on "I Am the Walrus," and relish the cascading crescendos on “A Day in the Life.” From early Beatles music on through the solo years, Classical Mystery Tour is the best of The Beatles like you have never heard them before.
As the “Summer Home” for the Houston Symphony, attendees are guaranteed to be entertained all season by an exciting lineup of orchestra performances including Star-Spangled Salute on July 3, A Night on Broadway July 14 and the annual Hocus Pocus Pops on October 14.
Mezzanine and lawn seating are free for all performing arts events. Tickets for most performances are $25 for orchestra seating. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic from home or their favorite restaurant to enjoy in their seat or on the hill. Keep in mind that beverages cannot be brought into The Pavilion and picnics must also comply with The Pavilion’s bag size restriction and/or be in original packaging.
