The Pavilion Currently Ranked No. 1 Outdoor Amphitheater in the World for Tickets Sold in 2023

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS — The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is now ranked first in the top 100 amphitheaters in the world based on the number of tickets sold so far in 2023, according to Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication. The Pavilion’s ticket sales totaled 268,693 for concerts between November 17, 2022, and August 16, 2023, which also places the venue second in the world in terms of gross sales for the year. 

“The Pavilion is having an incredible season of providing world-class entertainment to The Woodlands and beyond,” said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. “We are fortunate to be working closely with our dedicated partner Live Nation, and for our supportive community and hardworking staff. We are looking forward to finishing out our season strong with many great concerts on the schedule over the next couple months.”

 The Pollstar report is reflective of this season’s first-class entertainment including Duran Duran, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, Foreigner, Janet Jackson, Jelly Roll and many more. In addition to its lineup of contemporary entertainment, The Pavilion has presented a successful performing arts season thus far featuring inspiring performances by the Houston Symphony and Houston Ballet, in addition to several educational outreach programs. 

Other venues recognized on Pollstar magazine’s list for tickets sold include Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD at No. 2; Waldbühne Berlin in Berlin, Germany at No. 3; and, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO at No. 4. Other Texas venues on the list include Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas at No. 6 and Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin at No. 95.
