Collision of Rhythm is a duo comprised of tap-dancing classical virtuoso, Aaron Williams, and beatbox-juggling keynote speaker, Bronkar Lee. Though there are only two of them, they fill the stage as a 12-person ensemble would, moving from instrument to instrument with a high level of skill and diversity. With drumming, tap dancing, rhythmic juggling, marimba, piano, saxophone, flute and so much more, the show has been described as “Stomp meets Blue Man meets Cirque du Soleil." Take a magical field trip to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion where learning is not only fun, but awe-inspiring and eye-opening!
School Days at The Pavilion is back Tuesday, November 10th and Wednesday, November 11th, and this year we have another incredible lineup featuring some of the most acclaimed artists from around the world.
This year’s “Rhythm Safari” is the perfect introduction to the arts and will bring learning to life through music, movement, rhythm and storytelling. Students will enjoy performances by Collision of Rhythm, a high-energy, world-class percussion duo, and Lucas Miller, The Singing Zoologist, whose engaging songs and science-inspired performances are sure to spark curiosity and a love of wildlife!
To help teachers prepare students for this special experience, we are excited to offer a supporting curriculum guide that includes engaging pre-show and post-show activities designed to introduce key concepts, build excitement and anticipation and encourage students to reflect on and extend their learning after the performance. A printed guide and other fun classroom giveaways like craft materials, stickers and more will be delivered to schools before the field trip.

Since earning his zoology degree in 1991, Lucas Miller has been cultivating the next generation of scientists and wildlife advocates with in my multimedia science programs for elementary audiences! Lucas is a master of reading his audience and working on the fly to give them the perfect set to get them dancing, singing, and learning. A printed guide and other fun classroom giveaways like craft materials, stickers and more will be delivered to schools before the field trip. A downloadable guide will also be sent to teachers via email.
Schools are required to reserve and pay for their own busing to and from the venue. Subsidized busing is available for Title I Schools.
Please consider the length of time your students will be seated when registering for the field trip. The live performances run approximately 45 minutes each with a small lunch/bathroom break in-between sets.
If you need to return to school before the event dismissal time of 1pm, arrangements must be made at least one week before the field trip.
Lunch is NOT provided by The Pavilion. Concession stands will be closed. No food or beverages will be sold at The Pavilion during School Days.
