The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is coming back bigger and better thanks to the help of some generous community organizations. One of those community organizations is Donoho’s Jewellers. Donoho’s recently donated $100,000 to The Pavilion to benefit the restoration of the venue following destruction from Hurricane Ike. Donoho’s donated 5 percent of its sales between Dec. 12 and Dec. 31, 2008.
“Donoho’s is very excited to be a part of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s restoration. The renovation and expansion is going to make The Pavilion grand, creating memorable experiences for everyone attending performances at the venue. The Pavilion is such an important part of the community that we feel blessed to have the opportunity to help continue to bring outstanding arts and educational programming to the community,” said Richard van der Dys, director of Donoho’s Jewellers.
Donoho's Jewellers was founded by Jean and Tom Donoho in 1979. In 2009, Donoho’s celebrates its 30th year as a member of The Woodlands community. The qualified staff of Donoho's Jewellers is comprised of certified gemologist, jewelers and watchmakers. Donoho’s specializes in the sale of designer jewelry, time pieces and giftware, but also provides appraisal and repair services.
Currently, The Pavilion is undergoing a $9.5 million renovation and expansion project to repair the damage and make improvements to the venue. The renovation includes construction of approximately 2,000 new reserved seats and building a larger canopy structure to cover all 6,387 seats. Designed by Horst Berger, original architect of The Pavilion, renovations are expected to be complete in time for the opening of the venue's 20th season on May 1 featuring the Dave Matthews Band. Kenny Chesney wraps up the opening weekend with a performance on May 3.
Donoho's Jewellers is located at 9590 Six Pines Drive in The Woodlands. For more information on this promotion or specific events occurring at Donoho's Jewellers, call Store Director Richard van der Dys at 281-367-9050 or visit www.donohos.com.
