The Pavilion Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, is conducting a membership drive in search of new members who love the performing and visual arts and who love to have fun! Partners hosts an Open House Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the administration building lobby at The Pavilion. Attendees can explore the volunteer opportunities at The Pavilion and the benefits of becoming a member of The Pavilion Partners.

Launched in 1998, The Pavilion Partners is an important part of The Pavilion. Partners supports The Pavilion through fund-raising for the performing arts and educational outreach programs, as well as by awarding fine arts scholarships each spring. In addition to its fund-raising efforts, The Pavilion Partners provides event volunteers for performances and events at The Pavilion throughout the year.

Sue and Walt Rosemund, members of The Pavilion Partners, enjoy their membership for many reasons.

"We were looking for something to do together,” said Walt Rosemund, an event volunteer who has lived in the Lake Conroe area for 10 years. “Some friends told us about The Pavilion Partners and the great things The Pavilion does for the community. We joined [the organization] five years ago and have enjoyed every minute of it. We’ve met all sorts of interesting people and have been able to experience many concerts that we would not normally attend.”

“I think most people are unaware that The Pavilion is a nonprofit organization,” explained Sue Rosemund, who is passionate about the arts. “The Pavilion produces many wonderful educational programs that provide arts-related experiences for thousands of children throughout the Greater Houston area. Walt and I love being part of this process. We especially enjoy interacting with kids participating in hands-on pre-concert activities before arts shows.”

Membership in The Pavilion Partners is open to anyone over 18 years of age and yearly membership dues are $50 per person. Members can serve as event volunteers for performances at The Pavilion by working as ushers, taking tickets, staffing information booths or distributing literature. Members can also volunteer at various educational outreach programs, help with fund-raisers or serve on the committee of their choice. Special event invitations, parties and other members-only activities add to the enjoyment of being a member.

Partners who join on or before July 28 and who want to be event volunteers, must attend the July 28 orientation from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at The Pavilion. The orientation, along with a background check, is required for individuals who want to work concerts. For all other forms of volunteerism with Partners, orientation is not required.
