Membership has its privileges! Find out what it’s all about at The Pavilion Partners Volunteer Fair. The FREE event takes place Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on The Pavilion’s main stage. Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, is in search of new members who love the performing and visual arts and who love to have fun!
There is something for everyone at this event. Guests can have their photos taken on The Pavilion’s stage, learn interesting facts about performers during an exclusive backstage tour, get a sneak peek at The Pavilion’s 2008 season and register-to-win exciting door prizes. Attendees can explore volunteer opportunities at The Pavilion and the benefits of becoming a member of The Pavilion Partners.
“Being a member of The Pavilion Partners is a great way to meet individuals who share a love for live entertainment and to give back to the community in a meaningful way,” said Melissa Barksdale, a Partners member for the past four years. “Most people don’t realize that The Pavilion is a nonprofit organization that relies on the support of volunteers for staffing concerts, implementing educational events and raising funds to support arts programming. For me, there is not a better way to be involved with a world-class organization like The Pavilion.”
Membership in The Pavilion Partners is open to anyone over 18 years of age. Members can serve as event volunteers for performances at The Pavilion by working as ushers, taking tickets, staffing information booths or distributing literature. Members also help volunteer at The Pavilion’s educational outreach programs. The organization raises funds for the performing arts and educational outreach programs that take place at The Pavilion, and awards fine arts scholarships each spring. Programs, parties and other members-only activities add to the enjoyment of being a Partners member.
Launched in 1998, The Pavilion Partners plays a vital role in supporting The Pavilion through fund-raising for the performing arts and educational outreach programs, as well as awarding fine arts scholarships each spring and working at Pavilion concerts and arts events.
