Jeff Young, vice president of operations for The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands, home of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, will be the keynote speaker at The Woodlands Association’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. in The Woodlands Waterway Marriott’s Waterway Four Ballroom. This meeting is free and open to the public.

Young’s presentation titled The Rise and Fall (and Rise Again) of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion After Hurricane Ike will share historical information about The Pavilion, review damages sustained during Hurricane Ike, discuss the financial impact of the hurricane on The Pavilion and highlight renovation plans for the venue as it prepares to enter its 20th season of operation. The newly renovated Pavilion re-opens May 1 with the Dave Matthews Band. Information about other artists lined up for The Pavilion’s 20th season also will be available.

The Pavilion will offer the opportunity to win concert tickets to upcoming performances at The Pavilion, including both performing arts and contemporary events, for anyone attending the meeting.

Young has been on staff with The Pavilion since it opened in 1990 and was promoted to vice president of operations in 2001. He has experienced three expansions and renovations of the venue and has worked with countless artists over the last 19 years.

The evening also includes the installation of the association’s new directors and officers, celebrates the year’s accomplishments and features a retrospective on The Woodlands Association, which serves residents in Alden Bridge, Sterling Ridge, Carlton Woods, Indian Springs (west of Falconwing Drive), Creekside Park, Lake Woodlands East Shore and the neighborhoods of Harper’s Landing and Grogan’s Forest in the Village of College Park.

A highlight of the Annual Meeting is the recognition of the Volunteers of the Year, residents who generously provide community service to the associations.
