Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark while Houston Symphony Performs Incredible Score at The Pavilion August 29


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – On Thursday, August 29, all are welcome to attend a screening of Steven Spielberg’s very own Raiders of the Lost Ark at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The Houston Symphony will be performing the movie's suspenseful score live, as the action of Indiana Jones unfolds on the venue’s big screens. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free. Reserved orchestra seating tickets are $20. Gates open at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. performance sponsored by Anadarko.

All Aboard The Pavilion Express to Children’s Festival Presented by ExxonMobil Nov. 9-10


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is transforming into a giant playground for the 24th Annual Children’s Festival presented by ExxonMobil and the whole neighborhood is invited to hop on board! This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 10 from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 per person and includes all performances and activities. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 9 at 10 a.m.

The Pavilion and Houston Symphony Salute Community Heroes at A Symphony of Heroes September 11


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – On Wednesday, September 11, all are invited to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for a special salute to heroes with an action-packed program by the Houston Symphony. A Symphony of Heroes will feature musical scores from a variety of iconic movies including Superman, Spider-Man, The Avengers and The Incredibles as well as a tribute to everyday community heroes. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free. Reserved orchestra seating tickets are $20. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. performance sponsored by Huntsman.

30th Annual Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival Kicks Off at The Pavilion June 7


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – Since 1990, each summer, young professional musicians descend upon the University of Houston campus for a four-week intensive orchestral fellowship program. Each musician accepted into the program receives a fellowship that offers a dynamic opportunity to learn from distinguished artists from the Moores and Shepherd schools of music faculty as well as members of the Houston Symphony. The program features a concert at The Pavilion where the Texas Music Festival Orchestra will take the Main Stage for a free concert Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m. under the direction of Conductor Franz Anton Krager. Tickets are not required for free seating.

The Pavilion Hosts Chamber Music Camp Led by Julliard-Trained Faculty for Area Students


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – The Woodlands Chamberfest recently returned to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for an eighth year of lessons from notable Julliard alumni. Thirty-six students attended the week-long chamber music program for students in grades 7 through 12 who play violin, viola, cello and bass. As one of The Pavilion’s educational outreach programs, the summer music camp is dedicated to teaching communication, collaboration and leadership through chamber music.

The Pavilion Offered Local Scouts Opportunity to Earn Music Merit Badge June 7


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – On Friday, June 7, local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts attended Scout Day at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion to earn their Music Merit Badge before the Texas Music Festival Orchestra took the Main Stage. With a record-breaking 120 scouts in attendance, this year’s event, which reflects The Pavilion’s commitment to education, was a resounding success.

Celebrate America at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Annual Star-Spangled Salute July 3


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – Kick off America’s birthday celebration at Star-Spangled Salute as the Houston Symphony takes the Main Stage, Wednesday, July 3 at 8 p.m.  This free Independence Eve spectacular, which has been a tradition at The Pavilion for 30 seasons, features the Houston Symphony in a selection of patriotic favorites, presented by The Howard Hughes Corporation. Tickets are not required for this event. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Houston Grand Opera brings La Bohème to Life on Pavilion Main Stage May 22


THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – On Wednesday, May 22, Houston Grand Opera is bringing a beloved classic to life on The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Main Stage – Giacomo Puccini’s colorful and vibrant work of art La Bohème.  Tickets for the 8 p.m. performance, sponsored by The Wortham Foundation, are $20 for reserved orchestra seating. On behalf of Jerry MacDonald, CEO & President of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion:

We are deeply saddened by the tragedy in Manchester last night, our hearts and thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating incident. The safety of our guests, staff and artists is always our top priority for any show at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. For tonight’s concert with John Legend we will have heightened security as well as bag size restrictions. Bags, purses and backpacks larger than 8.5” x 11” will not be allowed into the venue. All bags are subject to a search.Please check The Pavilion’s website at www.woodlandscenter.org for more information regarding permitted items.
