At The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Men’s Night Out event held Feb. 10 at Donoho’s Jewellers, guests were able to do some early shopping for Valentine’s Day with 10 percent of all sales benefiting The Pavilion’s performing arts events and educational outreach programs. The event which raised approximately $10,000 not only included shopping, but spectacular entertainment, food, drinks and more.
“We were very excited to hold the Men’s Night Out event for the first time at Donoho’s Jewellers,” said Christine Scully, director of development for The Pavilion. “We could not have done this event without the generous support of our sponsors including Donoho’s, the Billiard Factory, Wells Fargo and the Indigo Group. We are already looking forward to this event next year.”
Entertainment for the evening featured Ewa Mataya Laurance, “The Striking Viking,” the world’s premier female trick shot artist. Laurance is a member of the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame and has had consecutive years as the No. 1 ranked player in the world. She was elected Player of the Year by all the major billiard publications has received the WPBA Sports Person of the Year Award as well as the prestigious BBIA Award, and has won every major billiard title there is, including the World Championship, US Open Championship, WPBA National Championship, European Championship, and is the current International Trick Shot Champion. When she’s not playing, she is the color commentator for ESPN Championship Billiards, and recently has hosted GSN’s billiards game show, “Ballbreakers.”
“Donoho’s was honored to partner with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion to support the arts in our community,” said Courtney Herron, assistant store director for Donoho’s Jewellers. “Men’s Night Out was a fun evening for the guys and it gave them a great opportunity to purchase something for their significant others while supporting The Pavilion.”
Gentlemen also were able to purchase raffle tickets that included a chance to win a weekend drive by Porsche, a black steel-coated Italian watch by TW Steel, a custom-fit blazer from Norton Ditto and more. Ted Clark was the grand prize winner of the weekend drive.
