The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and The Pavilion Partners Instrument Drive ends on a good note Oct. 3. So, if you are cleaning out the attic and don't know what to do with those instruments the kids no longer play, there is still time to donate them to school children throughout Montgomery County.
Over 15 instruments have been collected so far for the Instrument Drive. Some of the most popular donations have been horns and woodwinds.
"We are very excited about the turnout for the Instrument Drive so far. The Woodlands community is showing support for music education in our county. We are looking forward to more donations throughout the next week," said Cindy DuBois, director of marketing and education for The Pavilion.
With the donation of any new or used instrument you will receive a tax receipt for your donation. All you need to do is come by The Pavilion Ticket Office with your donated instrument and ask for a tax receipt. The drive benefits schools in Montgomery County that need assistance for their band and orchestra students.
At the conclusion of the Instrument Drive, all donated instruments will be distributed to Title 1 schools throughout Montgomery County that have requested assistance and to children who are participating in music programs in these schools.
