Volunteer Highlight: Chardelle Adelson
Pavilion Partner Chardelle Adelson moved to The Woodlands from Philadelphia in 1986. While her husband’s business brought them to town, it didn’t take long for Adelson to find her own way to get involved in the community. She actively volunteers for the Interfaith Hand Me Up Shop, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival and of course The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Partners.
In 2009, fellow Pavilion Partner Sylvia Caracio reached out to Adelson to help with collecting auction items for The Pavilion Partners’ Wine Dinner, an annual fundraiser for performing arts scholarships. Adelson has participated on the Wine Dinner committee every year since. She said, “I especially have a passion for the Wine Dinner because we raise quite a bit of money for scholarships. That means that kids out there will get a chance at success that they otherwise might not have.”
For Adelson, friendships have been one of the most valued bonuses from Partners.
“Sylvia has become a true mentor for me over the last several years and I am thankful for everything she has taught me,” Adelson said. “It has also been an honor to work alongside Lisa Koetting on the Wine Dinner, who has become one of my very good friends.”
Adelson’s tireless contributions have been recognized by Pavilion staff. “Chardelle is a volunteer passionate about The Pavilion’s missions and the impact on the community; she gives with her whole heart, strives for excellence and is not afraid of hard work,” said Leslie Williams, volunteer and special events coordinator for The Pavilion.
