GOO GOO DOLLS AND PHILLIP PHILLIPS HELP MAKE PAVILION DONATION DRIVE A SUCCESS

Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated band Goo Goo Dolls and Phillip Phillips assisted Pavilion staff members with the collection of thousands of needed items at a special donation drive held before the band’s concert September 7. Concertgoers were encouraged to bring non-perishable donation items to the show to help support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

ERIC CHURCH SHOW POSTPONED

In light of the extensive devastation throughout the state of Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the Eric Church show is postponed.  It is rescheduled to Friday, April 27, 2018.

MESSAGE FROM PAVILION CEO REGARDING HURRICANE HARVEY

On behalf of Jerry MacDonald, CEO & President of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion:

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has had no physical damage to the venue from the impact of Hurricane Harvey and is in good shape. Our current focus is on our staff, fans and community whose homes are experiencing devastating flood waters. With this in mind, the following shows have been cancelled at the venue:

  • Lady Antebellum scheduled for Sunday, August 27, 2017
  • Jeff and Larry’s Backyard BBQ featuring Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Refunds for both shows are available at the point of purchase.

Our continued thoughts are with our fellow Texans.

Take a Literary Journey with the Houston Symphony July 19 at The Pavilion

The Woodlands, Texas – The popular children’s book “The Composer is Dead” will come to life on The Pavilion’s Main Stage Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Children and adults will go on a literary journey with the Houston Symphony to investigate who killed the famed composer. Tickets for the 8 p.m. performance are $20 for reserved orchestra seating and the lawn and mezzanine are free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

The Woodlands, Texas – Kick off America’s birthday celebration at Star-Spangled Salute as the Houston Symphony takes the Main Stage, Monday, July 3, 2017, at 8 p.m.  This free Independence Eve spectacular, which has been a tradition at The Pavilion for 27 years, features the Houston Symphony in a selection of patriotic favorites, presented by The Woodlands Development Company. Danny DeVito LIVE on The Pavilion's Main Stage for Matilda: Film with Live Orchestra June 9!

Acclaimed actor, producer, director and narrator, Danny DeVito, will join famed film composer David Newman and the Houston Symphony at the world premiere of Matilda: Film with Live Orchestra at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on June 9 at 8 p.m. Come early to enjoy the Hats Off to Reading Celebration where kids can receive a free book and participate in games and crafts. Tickets are $20 for orchestra seating. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Due to the popularity of this show, attendees utilizing free seating are encouraged to arrive early to ensure entry.

Rare Instrument to be Featured During Texas Music Festival Orchestra Free Concert June 23

The Woodlands, Texas – Since 1990, each summer, young professional musicians descend upon the University of Houston campus for a four-week intensive orchestral fellowship program. Each musician accepted into the program receives a fellowship that offers a dynamic opportunity to learn from distinguished artists from the Moores and Shepherd schools of music faculty as well as members of the Houston Symphony. The program culminates at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion where the Texas Music Festival Orchestra will take the Main Stage for a free concert Friday, June 23 at 8 p.m. under Guest Conductor Brett Mitchell. Tickets are not required for free seating.

The Pavilion Hosts Chamber Music Camp Led by Julliard-Trained Faculty for Area Students

The Woodlands, Texas This week, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is proud to host ChamberFest, a week-long chamber music program for students in grades 7 through 12 who play violin, viola, cello and bass. As one of The Pavilion’s educational outreach programs, the summer music camp is dedicated to teaching communication, collaboration and leadership through chamber music.

We are deeply saddened by the tragedy in Manchester last night, our hearts and thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating incident. The safety of our guests, staff and artists is always our top priority for any show at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. For tonight’s concert with John Legend we will have heightened security as well as bag size restrictions. Bags, purses and backpacks larger than 8.5” x 11” will not be allowed into the venue.
