The Woodlands, Texas – The Pavilion Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, will hold its 19th Annual Wine Dinner and Auction March 26 on The Pavilion’s Main Stage. This exclusive dinner funds scholarships for local students pursuing the fine arts in higher education.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a wine and hors d’oeurves reception and music from Maydwell Musical Group. Following the reception, Fleming’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar will cater a seated dinner paired with fabulous Flora Springs Napa Valley Family Estate boutique wines. The cost to attend the event is $225 per person.
This year’s event honors Randy Lowry for his contribution to The Pavilion Partners over the last 16 years. Randy has been a member of The Partners Executive Council where he has served in several leadership roles including President. Until this year, he served as committee co-chair for the annual Partners Wine Dinner and Auction since 2003 where his commitment to the scholarship program helped to reach the million dollar milestone of total funds awarded.
“Randy is so deserving of this honor because of the time and passion he has put into The Pavilion Partners as well as the Wine Dinner and Auction,” said Lisa Koetting, co-chair of the Wine Dinner and Auction. “He is leaving big shoes to fill, but I am grateful for his mentorship and leadership throughout the years that motivate me to continue in his footsteps.”
In addition to fine food and wine, the evening includes a live and bid board auction highlighting trips, wine dinners, custom-made jewelry, lavish wine baskets and more. Montgomery County natives Judy Larson Olson and Nelda Blair bring their talents as auctioneers to the event.
This year’s event will debut a signature Cabernet Sauvignon based red blend wine with custom label. The label was created by local artist Hunter Strong and includes the name of the event and incorporates a beautifully sketched drawing of The Pavilion. The label also highlights theater arts, one of the five fine arts disciplines available for a scholarship. The signature wine will be on hand at the event for tasting and purchase.
The Annual Wine Dinner continues a tradition of raising funds for scholarships awarded to local high school students planning to study the arts in college. Through the success of the fundraiser funding is also available for renewal scholarship recipients. Last year a record 260 guests attended the dinner and raised approximately $150,000.
Scholarships are awarded to students in the following categories: vocal music, instrumental music, theater arts, dance, visual arts and computer graphic arts. The awards, based on talent and academic performance, are presented each spring.
