On June 17, Principal POPS Conductor Steven Reineke and the Houston Symphony will premiere a brand-new orchestra show created just for Houston-born band The Suffers that is sure to excite both new and old fans alike. Sponsored by Insperity, tickets for the 8 p.m. performance are $25 for reserved orchestra seating and the lawn and mezzanine are free. Gates open at 7 p.m.
Defined as “Gulf Coast Soul,” The Suffers have emerged as one of the hottest musical acts in the country accepting invitations nationally for featured performances on Late Show With David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Super Bowl LIVE in downtown Houston. Now this homegrown octet is bringing their eclectic spin on blues, soul, country, Caribbean, Cajun and hip-hop to The Pavilion’s Main Stage.
“We are thrilled to welcome The Suffers along with the Houston Symphony to the Main Stage for this brand-new show that was created just for The Pavilion,” said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. “We are certain that it will be a truly entertaining evening for all in attendance.”
Pre-performance activities begin at 7 p.m. in the North Plaza. Children and parents can visit The Pavilion Partners Arts & Crafts Booth and Instrument Petting Zoo as well as activities by Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse and Woodforest National Bank. Guests also can register-to-win Tommy Bahama’s “Best Seats in the House” and participate in Fidelity’s Seat Exchange.
At the symphony, guests are welcome to have a picnic in their seat or on the hill and lawn seats are provided for free! Keep in mind that beverages cannot be brought into The Pavilion and picnics must also comply with The Pavilion’s bag size restriction and/or be in original packaging. Examples include pizza within a pizza box or chips in original sealed packaging. Please visit The Pavilion’s website for more information on these restrictions.
Preferred parking is available in the on-site Town Center Garage, located along Six Pines Drive. Parking is $10 per vehicle for this and most performing arts events. Tickets for on-site parking can be purchased in advance at all Ticketmaster locations and The Pavilion Box Office.
