Guests had the chance to relive or redo their prom at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Prom Night “Feels Like the First Time” gala held Feb. 8, 2014, at Competitive Edge Sports. The event raised more than $425,000 making this the most successful gala ever. These funds benefit The Pavilion’s performing arts events, educational outreach programs and for the first time ever The Pavilion Partners Fine Arts Scholarship Fund.

Guests were encouraged to dress from their favorite prom era or wear their dream prom attire. The Pavilion honored, George and Dianne Lindahl III, at the gala as the “King and Queen” of the prom. George is a former board member having served on the board for six years and has given to The Pavilion in numerous ways. He was the first to purchase a $100,000 “Juke Box Hero” table.

“Prom Night was one of the best events we have ever had and one of the most successful galas raising money for our arts and education events as well as our fine arts scholarships,” said Jerry MacDonald, president and CEO of The Pavilion. “This event solidifies the longevity of our fine arts and scholarship funding for many years into the future. This success makes a strong statement about the support the arts have in our community.”

The gala also featured many extraordinary live auction items. More than $208,000 was raised from the auction that included a concert backstage experience, autographed guitars, a one-of-a-kind dinner and wine package, exclusive sports package, meet & greet with Foreigner and more.

One of the highlights of the evening was a drawing to determine the winner of a 1.5 carat diamond and custom design, Foreigner autographed guitar and Meet & Greet and L’Auberge Casino Resort packages. Steve Nance, Pavilion board member won the diamond and Patricia Brown with Woodforest National Bank won the Foreigner Meet & Greet.

Prom Night gala featured the legendary British-American rock band, Foreigner. With ten multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including "Juke Box Hero,"  "Feels Like The First Time," "Urgent," "Head Games," "Cold as Ice," "Hot Blooded," and the worldwide No. 1 hit, "I Want To Know What Love Is," Foreigner continues to rock the charts more than 30 years into the game.
