Welcome New Board Members - Congratulations to Sarah Epley, Rita Kelly, Diane Nielsen, and Mike O’Neil who were elected to Partners Board of Directors for the 2010-2012 term and to our new board officers: Keith Ferry, Sol Sachs, Betty Nelson and Dixie Cope. They each bring a wealth of talent to our leadership team and are eager to serve Partners in the upcoming year.
Woman of Distinction - Best Wishes to Gaye Craig, Partners Woman of Distinction. Gaye will be honored at the Women of Distinction Luncheon on April 30, 2010 at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott. The event begins at 10:30 am with shopping & a silent auction with the luncheon at 11:30 am. Tickets cost $50 and are available by contacting Charlotte Weschler at email@example.com. The event is sponsored by the Montgomery County Women’s Council of Organizations.
New Event Volunteers – Mark you calendars for the New Event Volunteer Orientation which will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. We will meet in the Woodforest Bank Club located at The Pavilion. Plan to arrive early and park in the parking garage located in the Gold Lot located off Six Pines Drive. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Late arrivals will not be admitted and volunteers must remain for the entire orientation. Please RSVP to Vicki Huebler at firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan to attend orientation.
Also, please plan to visit The Pavilion office on Saturday, April 10, 2010 between 9:00 am-Noon or 1:00 pm-5:00 pm to order your volunteer shirt and have your badge photo taken. If you are not able to come on April 10th, please contact Charlotte Weschler at email@example.com to schedule an appointment.
Returning Event Volunteers - Welcome back! Event volunteers who met their eight event requirement in the 2009 season are asked to attend a brief orientation on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. or sign up for one of the events listed below in lieu of the orientation.
Orientation is required for those who did not make the required eight events last season. We would be very excited to have your help again this year. Therefore you are asked to attend the full orientation on April 24th at 9:00 am or choose the option to attend the refresher on April 24th at 2:00 pm provided you volunteer to work one of the following events:
· Easter Service (April 4)
· The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival (April 8-11)
· The First Symphony (April 29)
· Buzzfest (Radio Festival -May 2)

Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival - Approximately 700 volunteers are needed for The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival in Town Center on April 8-11, 2010. Volunteers are asked to work a four-hour shift and, in exchange, receive free admission to the festival and a commemorative t-shirt featuring artwork by Tanya Doskova. Volunteer positions include artist relations, festival admissions, gate monitor & greeters, entertainment assistants, children’s art activities, souvenir sales and student art exhibit. Volunteers must be 17 years or older. For online registration form and other details, visit www.woodlandsartsfestival.com. Please indicate that you would like your volunteer hours to benefit THE PAVILION PARTNERS. Partners is one of the festival’s charity partners and receives a percentage of the WWAF community donation based on its volunteer hours. You do not need to be an event volunteer or even a member of Partners to participate. Event volunteers will receive one event credit per volunteer shift.
Partners Information Meeting – It is time for Partners to invite new members to join our organization. The best way to gain volunteers is to invite your friends, co-workers and family members. Please invite interested guests to attend the Partners information meeting on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Library – South Branch located at 2101 Lake Robbins Drive. You are our best advertisement!
Recruiting Incentive – The Partners Board would like to encourage you to expand our membership this season. Therefore, Partners will be awarded one opportunity to win dinner for two and symphony tickets for each new member who joins Partners as an event volunteer qualifying for a 2010 season badge. The drawing will be at the New Member Party in June. In addition, event volunteers will receive one event credit for each qualified volunteer recruited. Let’s see if we can bring in 100 new volunteers!
12th Annual Wine Dinner - Partners 12th Annual Wine Dinner will be held Sunday, March 28th on the main stage of The Pavilion. This exciting event offers an evening of fine dining and premier wines while guests enjoy the opportunity to support The Center for the Performing Arts in The Woodlands. Seating is limited so please do not hesitate to make your reservation. The ticket price is $200 per person and tables may reserved to seat eight guests. Swing for the Arts - The Pavilion Partners 6th Annual Swing for the Arts Golf Tournament is scheduled for June 7, 2010 at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course. Volunteers are needed to help plan the tournament. The next committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th at 11:30 a.m. in the Woodforest Bank Club at The Pavilion. Proceeds from the tournament benefit The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s performing arts events and educational outreach programs.
