News for June 2012

Thanks to all our volunteers for offering their time and talent to promote Partners’ mission of “Bringing People and the Arts Together.”

New Member Party – We hope to see you all at the New Member Party.  Please note the date change from Fri., June 1 to this Fri., June 15 from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Woodforest Bank Club.  Guests are welcome to park in the Town Center Garage located along Six Pines Drive.  This is always an awesome, fun-filled evening and a great opportunity to welcome our new Partners.

Star-Spangled Salute – Partners, please do not miss the opportunity to volunteer for this exciting patriotic event scheduled for Tue., July 3.  Over sixty volunteers are needed!  Pre-concert activities include a performance by The Woodlands Show Chorus.  Guests will be able to interact with a living Statue of Liberty, Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross characters.  Children will be making red, white & blue beaded bracelets and getting “tattoos” at the Partners table.  We will also be handing out flags and patriotic pinwheels.  Over 10,000 guests are expected to join in this patriotic salute to our nation.  Please go online today to volunteer.

Texas Music Festival – Volunteers are needed for the Texas Music Festival performance titled, German Masters, on Fri., June 22.  Over 100 gifted, student musicians from all over the world will be showcased in this free event.  The concert features the finalists of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Young Artist Competition and the winner will be announced that evening.  Pre-concert activities celebrate German culture with music, dancing and food. If you have not had an opportunity to attend this event as a guest or as a volunteer, please join us this year.

Events Worked – A monthly update of the number of event credits earned by Partners volunteers was sent out via email this week.  If you did not receive an update or have any corrections or questions, please contact Leslie Williams, volunteer and special events coordinator, at [email protected].  It is recommended that volunteers keep their own record of events worked in case there is a discrepancy.

Many, Many Thanks – To all the volunteers who helped with Musical Scores and Fine Arts Education Day.  The lunch preparation was awesome!  Also, special thanks to our corporate volunteers from Aon-Hewitt, who worked together with Partners to welcome the thousands of children who visited The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for these special educational outreach events.
