Thanks to all our volunteers for offering their time and talent to promote Partners’ mission of “Bringing People and the Arts Together.”
New Member Party – We hope to see you all at the New Member Party. Please note the date change from Fri., June 1 to this Fri., June 15 from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Woodforest Bank Club. Guests are welcome to park in the Town Center Garage located along
Star-Spangled Salute – Partners, please do not miss the opportunity to volunteer for this exciting patriotic event scheduled for Tue., July 3. Over sixty volunteers are needed! Pre-concert activities include a performance by The Woodlands Show Chorus. Guests will be able to interact with a living Statue of Liberty, Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross characters. Children will be making red, white & blue beaded bracelets and getting “tattoos” at the Partners table. We will also be handing out flags and patriotic pinwheels. Over 10,000 guests are expected to join in this patriotic salute to our nation. Please go online today to volunteer.
Events Worked – A monthly update of the number of event credits earned by Partners volunteers was sent out via email this week. If you did not receive an update or have any corrections or questions, please contact Leslie Williams, volunteer and special events coordinator, at [email protected]. It is recommended that volunteers keep their own record of events worked in case there is a discrepancy.
Many, Many Thanks – To all the volunteers who helped with Musical Scores and Fine Arts Education Day. The lunch preparation was awesome! Also, special thanks to our corporate volunteers from Aon-Hewitt, who worked together with Partners to welcome the thousands of children who visited The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for these special educational outreach events.
Pavilion Partners July Social – Join the fun as we tap our artistic talent when we visit Painting with a Twist on Thu., July 12 from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Guests may bring their own bottle of wine or beverage and will paint a picture along with a local artist. “It’s a bit of paint, a little bit of wine and a whole lot of fun!”. You will go home with a one-of-a-kind creation. The cost is $35 per person payable at the door. Please rsvp to Leslie Williams at [email protected].
“The Heart of Rock and Roll” - Partners Pre-Concert Dinner & Fundraiser will be held prior to the Joe Cocker & Huey Lewis and the News concert on Sat., July 21. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a social hour including complimentary beer and margaritas. Join us as we return to the 1980’s! Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite concert t-shirts. (Mullets and side pony tails are optional!).
Tickets are $200 per person and include special reserved seating at the concert, dinner and a VIP club pass. The event will be held in the House of Blues Hospitality Tent at The Pavilion. Funds raised from the dinner and live auction will benefit The Pavilion’s performing arts and educational outreach programs. Tickets are limited so make plans to attend. Partners Volunteer Information Meeting – The next Partners Volunteer Information Meetings will be held on Thu., July 19 and on Thu., Aug. 9 in the Woodforest Bank Club located at The Pavilion. Two times are offered:
· 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
· 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Please invite your friends and neighbors to one of these information meetings to learn about becoming a Partners volunteer. We ask that attendees rsvp to Leslie Williams, volunteer and special events coordinator, at [email protected].
Partners Concept Committee Seeking Volunteers - The concept committee was recently formed to explore new and creative ways to raise funds to benefit The Center for the Performing Arts of the Woodlands. We are looking at the possibility of creating a unique cookbook as a future fundraising opportunity. A committee meeting is scheduled for Mon., July 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the conference room at The Pavilion. Partners are invited to attend and offer ideas and suggestions as we explore this exciting possibility.
