Children’s Festival - Calling all Partners!
The 17th Annual Children’s Festival is our signature event here at The Pavilion and we really need your help! Partners, you are The Pavilion’s volunteer corps that help make happen events like The Children’s Festival that educates and entertains thousands of children!
For every shift you volunteer, your name gets entered in to the drawing. The more shifts, the greater your chances to win. The drawing will be held at the Partners “End of the Year” Holiday Party. We are going to be offering a variety of gift cards from Woodlands Wine Company, Rico’s Restaurants, Mi Cocina , Tommy Bahama’s , Goose’s Acre, Grimaldi’s, Macaroni Grill, Brio’s, Woodlands Wellness and more… sign up today at www.woodlandscenter.org/staff or email [email protected].
23rd ANNUAL GE RUN THRU THE WOODS
The Thanksgiving Day Run Thru the Woods sponsored by GE will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2011 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
The 23rd Annual GE Run Thru the Woods "Directed by the YMCA" is an annual charity event designed for all ages and levels of fitness. Proceeds benefit the South Montgomery County YMCA Partners Program, Operation Graduation, Conroe ISD AFJROTC, and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Education Outreach Program. In 2011, more than 5200 partcipants joined us and raised more than $150,000.
Need 6 Partners to help assume the role as timers out on the course. The van with timers takes off when the race starts and then drops off the times at each mile marker. The timers have a stop watch and call out times to the runners as they pass by. The van will then follow the last runner and pick up the timers and return them back to the Pavilion.
Need 4 timers(Partners) for 5 Mile Race and 2 Timers(Partners) for 3 Mile Race.
The volunteers need to be at the start line at 7:30am; will be back at The Pavilion at10:00 am giving you plenty of time to plan your holiday festivities. Ø Partners Holiday Party will be announced soon…watch for an evite with more information. Drawings for the gift cards offered as incentives for working Children’s Festival will be made at the party. Don’t miss the fun!
Ø Nov 18th - The Pavilion's Staff End of Year Party - Partners Event Staff WHO HAVE WORKED THEIR 8 ARE INVITED ONLY as an extra thank you. Dinner will be served in the House of Blues beginning at 6:00 p.m. Guests, non-event staff spouses and children are not included in the invitation.
Ø Pavilion Partners November Social – November 17th at 6pm at the Olive Oil Restaurant, a family owned and operated Greek restaurant in The Woodlands, offers authentic, delicious cuisine and an inviting and exciting atmosphere. In addition to offering appetizing Greek food they feature live entertainment including live musicians and belly dancers.
Holly Jolly Symphony Spectacular –15 more volunteers are needed for this Houston Symphony performance on December 7th. For only the second time in 23 seasons, The Pavilion rings in the holidays with a heartwarming celebration that features the sounds of the season. Join us as The Pavilion is magically transformed into a Winter Wonderland! The evening’s musical holiday merriment features the Houston Symphony performing holiday classics and popular carols. Bring your family to this holiday spectacular to visit with Santa, enjoy carolers and play in the snow. ‘Tis the season!
Pre-concert activities in the North Plaza begin at 6 p.m. If you have not had an opportunity to attend a symphony as a guest or as a volunteer, please join us.

Partners Cookbook Committee Seeking Volunteers -The committee is looking for people that are excited about this fun and interesting project, members that have worked on cook book projects before (experience is always a plus), but also those with talents in writing, photography, marketing, graphic arts, online publishing, cooking…and tasting!
Please RSVP with your interest to join the committee and/or just show up on Monday November 19th at 1pm in The Woodforest Bank Club!
Wine Dinner Committee – The next 2013 Wine Dinner Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 12th at 11:00am in the conference room here at The Pavilion admin building. Please RSVP with your interest to join the committee and/or just show up if you would like to explore the committee before you make a decision.
