Happy Hot Summer!
Thanks to all our volunteers for offering their time and talent to promote Partners’ mission of “Bringing People and the Arts Together.”
From the Desk of Your Partners’ President:
The Pavilion Partners Annual Pre-Concert Dinner & Fundraiser event will be held before the Hall & Oates concert September 26. This is a fun event where funds raised are for The Pavilion’s educational events, so mark it on your calendar. Thank you for all of your hard work and I hope to see you there.
The Pavilion Partners board is asking Partners for help with some items for the event’s raffle games. One game is an alcohol pull where guests will purchase a pull for one bottle of alcohol to take home. We are asking for a donation of wine or liquor in the $20 to $100 range (of course we will accept higher values!) We are aiming for around 100 bottles of liquor so all donations are welcome.
Another way to help is through gift card donations for our spin-the-wheel raffle game. These cards will be used as thank you gifts to guests who participate in the raffle and can be any gift card valued at any price. With your help we will be able to make this great fundraiser even better.
Also, invitations are just being mailed so there are still seats available for anyone interested in attending the event. Visit The Pavilion’s website or contact Leslie Williams for details.

Summer Interns – The Pavilion has had the pleasure of working with this summer’s interns Jennifer Layer and Carolyn Covington.
Jennifer Layer, a junior at Southwestern University, has created new marketing materials for potential sponsorships of The Pavilion’s annual Children’s Festival. We are very excited to see all the new possibilities her project will provide to one of our most loved events of the year.
Carolyn Covington, a rising senior at The John Cooper School, has developed new plans for a Junior Partners Program. This program will further our mission of involving children to the arts in a fun and meaningful way, and we are thrilled to see where her ideas lead us.
Grease Sing-A-Long, August 15 - At this unique interactive show, guests will experience the movie on the LED screens complete with animated lyrics. Partners and guests are encouraged to dress in 50’s style outfits. Tell your friends and neighbors to bring their families and picnics to join in the fun! Pre-concert activities begin at 6:30 p.m.
New Members Performing Arts Training – Wednesday, Sept. 9 - There are two informational meetings scheduled for new and potential Partners interested in being a performing arts volunteer. Volunteers may choose to attend at 1 or 6 p.m. Each session lasts approximately an hour and a half. This is a great way to find out more about our volunteer program. A mini-tour of The Pavilion is included. If you plan to attend or would like more information, contact Leslie Williams at 281-210-1125 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please tell anyone who is considering joining Partners to come and explore volunteering here at The Pavilion.
Hocus Pocus Pops, October 23 - Get into the spirit of Halloween as the Houston Symphony returns for a night of bone-chilling music and spooky sounds. Guests are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes and the first boys and ghouls to register at Hocus Pocus Central will have the chance to walk across stage in their costumes. Guests are also invited to jump on the Great Pumpkin Express as it leaves the station to sweep you away on a tour of The Pavilion’s haunted grounds. Pre-concert activities begin at 6 p.m. We will need lots and lots of Partners for this show! Partners will also be encouraged to dress in costume provided their uniform still shows!
20th Annual Children’s Festival, November 12-15 – Children’s Festival is an exciting four day event dedicated to introducing young children to the wonders of the performing arts. Become a committee member and you can join us in the creation process of the festival! Committee members help in the planning for the Activity Tent, Arts Alley, Healthy Kids Zone, Community Stage, Fun Zone and Partners Face Painting and Hat Booth. If you are interested in serving on the Children’s Festival Committee, please contact Shannon Wilson by phone at 281-364-3010 or email@example.com.
Also, if you know any groups, churches, schools or corporations that would like to volunteer at Children’s Festival on November 12, 13, 14, and 15, we need lots of volunteers for many activities. It is a great team builder and a good way to earn community service credit for school. Please have them contact Leslie Williams at 281-210-1125 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
