According to Roxanne Davis, YMCA Community Liaison, “Many children, youth and adults in our area need YMCA programs and services but are unable to pay the fees. Financial assistance provided through our Open Doors and Partners Campaign programs makes it possible for these individuals and families to gain the positive benefits of participating in the Y. Together we can ensure everyone can be a part of the YMCA regardless of financial resources. Let’s all come together on Thanksgiving and be thankful for our bounty and strengthen the foundations of our community. We invite all families out to the annual GE Run Thru the Woods and start a family tradition. Join the Fun and Run!”
Other local charities that benefit from the run include Operation Graduation, Conroe ISD AFJROTC Program, Montgomery County Humane Society and the Education Outreach Program at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
