Hello fellow Partners,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your hard work this season! It has been a very busy 2014 and because of your support it has been a very successful year as well.
Besides helping to staff all the events The Pavilion has hosted this year, the annual Pre-Concert Dinner & Fundraiser held prior to the Lionel Richie with CeeLo Green concert July 12 raised nearly $40,000 for The Pavilion’s educational outreach programs.
The committee, volunteers and staff did a wonderful job planning and executing this important event. Partners also donated much needed items for our games. Thank you for all the ways you help bring the arts to the community.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - was chosen as the cover of the Interfaith of The Woodlands Community & Business Directory for this year. Interfaith revealed the cover an event at The Pavilion.
Microsoft of The Woodlands Mall Grand Opening June 26 - Partners had such great attendance at the grand opening of The Woodlands Mall’s new Microsoft store, they donated a larger hardware grant than originally planned to The Pavilion. Thank you to all Partners and friends of The Pavilion who helped!
Partner New Shirt Pick Up Day – Saturday Aug. 30 from 2-6 p.m. You must bring your old shirt in order to exchange for the new shirt. Same shirt new logo, it is important that the new logo be displayed. Thank you!

Partners in Hope in Partners Light the Night Walk and Fundraisers – Our second annual fight against cancer is beginning now, in celebration of survivors David Schlauch, Lillian Hargis and Tom Blanchard and in memory of Cindy DuBois.
Cancer has affected each of us, through a co-worker, a family member or dear friend. It is for these individuals, whether to honor their memory or to celebrate their survival of cancer, that we have formed our team. Please join us in raising funds for this important organization and to raise awareness for cancer research. We hope that through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's continued research and other similar organizations, cancer will one day be a distant memory.
This year’s Partners Light the Night fundraiser offers three fun ways to for you to participate, the first event is Saturday Sept. 13 at Jerry Built Burgers. Jerry Built will donate 20% of the entire day sales, so get over there for lunch or dinner. Partners will be hosting their monthly social there on this day. Watch for more information and an Evite.
Secondly, Friday Night Lights is a Tennis Tournament & Social on Oct. 3 at the Woodlands Country Club. You can play tennis in this fun event for $50 or if you are not a player, join us for the social. The social ticket is only $25 and you get you food and drinks with music by Maydwell Music Group as well as fun games.
Finally, join the Partners in Hope team and walk on Nov. 2. Go to the website to sign up for the tennis tournament and social and/or the walk. All proceeds go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. DISNEY IN CONCERT: Magical Muisic from the Movies Aug. 30 – Lots and lots of volunteers are needed for this magical night. Partners is be staffing all regular activities that are provided to our guests, PLUS helping to serve ice cream. The first 1,250 guests to visit the Fidelity Investments Ice Cream Social located in the North Plaza get free ice cream with all the fixings. Remember to bring yourself an extra shirt so you can stay to watch after the pre-concert actities.
Come be enchanted by DISNEY IN CONCERT Magical Music from the Movies with the Houston Symphony. Every new generation has a favorite Disney musical, whether it's “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pocahontas,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Aladdin” or “The Lion King.” And then there are the classics, from a “Mary Poppins” medley to the "Yo ho" of “Pirates of the Caribbean.” When everyone joins together for memorable moments and melodies that Mouseketeers of all ages know by heart, it feels like a small world, after all.

19th Annual Children’s Festival - Join the fun! The next planning meeting for the Children’s Festival Committee is Wednesday, Sept. 20 at noon in The Pavilion Conference room. Committee members help in the planning for the Activity Tent, Arts Alley, Healthy Kids Zone, Community Stage, Fun Zone and Partners Hat Booth. If you are interested in serving on the Children’s Festival Committee, please contact Shannon Wilson by phone at 281-364-3010 or email@example.com.
Also if you know any groups, churches, schools or corporations that would like to volunteer at Children’s Festival on Nov. 6,7,8 and 9 we need lots of volunteers for many activities. It is a great team builder or a good way to earn community service credit for school. Please have them contact Leslie at 281-210-1125 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
17th Annual Wine Dinner - It is time again for us to begin planning our Annual Wine Dinner & Auction which is scheduled in March/April 2015. The dinner is an annual event that raises money for Partners Fine Arts Scholarships and The Pavilion’s educational outreach programs.
The first planning meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. in The Pavilion’s conference room. The event is chaired by Randy Lowry with Lisa Koetting serving as co-chair. Please contact the Leslie Williams at email@example.com if you are interested in participating on the committee.
Painting in The Big Show Exhibition at the Lawndale Art Center – Partners member Dave Wilson ‘s artwork recently on display. The Big Show is Lawndale Art Center's annual open-call, juried exhibition. Since the show's conception in 1984, it has become an important venue through which emerging and under-represented Houston area artists gain exposure.
