Welcome New Event Volunteers – Welcome to all our new Partners! We look forward to meeting you at the New Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The orientation will begin promptly at 9 a.m. in the Woodforest Bank VIP Club located at The Pavilion. Parking is available in the parking garage located in the Gold Lot located off Six Pines Drive. This orientation will provide information on the history of The Pavilion, rules, regulations and various job duties performed at the venue. You will participate in a guided tour of the entire Pavilion and will have an opportunity to meet the supervisors with whom you will be working.
A few things to remember for the orientation:
· Arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
· Plan to remain for the entire orientation.
· Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
· Please RSVP to Amy Kelley at email@example.com if you plan to attend orientation.
Also, please plan to visit The Pavilion office this Saturday, April 9, 2011, between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (please note time change) to have your badge photo taken. If you are not able to come on April 9, please contact Amy Kelley at firstname.lastname@example.org to make alternate arrangements.
Returning Event Volunteers - Welcome back! Event volunteers who met their eight event requirement in the 2010 season are asked to attend a brief orientation on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. or work one of the events listed below in lieu of the orientation.
Please be sure to bring your 2010 Badge or a $5 replacement fee to orientation. If you have any questions, please contact Amy Kelley at email@example.com .
Orientation is also required for those who did not make the required eight events last season and wish to return as volunteers. We would be very excited to have your help again this year. Therefore you are asked to attend the full orientation on April 16 at 9 a.m. or choose the option to attend the refresher on April 16 at 2 p.m. provided you volunteer to work one of the following events:
· The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival (April 9-10)
· The First Symphony (April 20)
· Buzzfest (Radio Festival -May 1)
Sign up for The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is through their website www.woodlandsartsfestival.com . The Symphony and Buzzfest are currently posted on The Pavilion staff calendar.
Musical Scores – It is time for Partners to sign up for Musical Scores scheduled for Wed., May 11. Musical Scores serves “at-risk”, underprivileged middle school students who earn the opportunity to attend a special event and concert at The Pavilion by displaying model behavior and achieving specific scholastic goals. Students are treated to a free performance, t-shirt and lunch. Come join the excitement as we welcome 6,000 students to The Pavilion for a day of fun! Please arrive at 7:30 a.m. for orientation and a delicious breakfast in the Woodforest Bank Club and plan to remain until around 2 p.m. Parking is in the God Lot parking garage located off Six Pines. Event and performing arts volunteers are to sign up online at www.pavilion.woodlandscenter.org/staff .
Musical Scores Lunch Preparation – Lots and lots of volunteers are needed to help pack 6,000 sack lunches for the students attending Musical Scores. We will gather in the House of Blues located inside the VIP gate at The Pavilion on Tuesday, May 10 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. This is always a fun way to get together with other Partners. Dress is casual. If you are able to help out, please contact Amy Kelley at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Fine Arts Education Day - Volunteers are needed for Fine Arts Education Day on Wed., May 25 at The Pavilion when fourth and sixth grade students from Conroe ISD will visit The Pavilion for a Houston symphony performance. Partners will welcome students off their buses and direct them to their seats. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and is over at noon. Please arrive at 8 a.m. for orientation with breakfast in the Woodforest Bank Club and plan to remain until 12:30 p.m. Parking is in the Gold Lot parking garage located off Six Pines. Event and performing arts volunteers are to sign up online at www.pavilion.woodlandscenter.org/staff
Volunteering for Educational Events – Musical Scores and Fine Arts Education Day are two of the educational events sponsored by The Pavilion. Working at educational events is open to all qualified Partners volunteers. New volunteers must submit a background authorization, photo release and photo ID at least two week before the event in order to be a qualified volunteer. The Pavilion Buzz - Sign up to receive The Pavilion Buzz, your link to the nerve center of The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands, home of The Pavilion! This periodical source of information will give you insight about “Hot” topics and events at The Pavilion. To join, visit www.woodlandscenter.org.
