Did You Know... The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization, also known as The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands. The Pavilion is the official Summer Home of the Houston Symphony, Home Away from Home of Houston Ballet, and a presenting venue for Houston Grand Opera and other acclamined arts organizations. The Pavilion funds and produces all performances by these arts organizaitons. The Pavilion requires donations from corporations, foundations and individuals of $1.2 million a year to produce its performing arts events and educational outreach programs. These donations make it possible for The Pavilion to offer free mezzanine and lawn seating at all Houston Symphony and Houston Ballet performances. You can bring in picnics (sans beverages) to all of The Pavilion's performing arts events. The Pavilion touches the lives of more than 40,000 children every year through its educational outreach programs. The Pavilion has a volunteer core, The Pavilion Partners, that has awarded more than $500,000 in Fine Arts scholarships. The Pavilion gives back to the community by supporting local organizations, schools, shelters, senior groups and disadvantaged youth through its various programs. The Pavilion brings the arts and families together.
