The Pavilion enjoys a long-standing relationship with The University of Houston Moore's School of Music. Annually, The University sponsors the Texas Music Festival Orchestra. Music students from around the world send audition tapes, are selected, then come together in Houston to form an orchestra. These students not only work together, but also compete against each other throughout the Festival. The Festival culminates with a concert held at The Pavilion featuring the orchestra and winners of the competition. Each winner receives a Cynthia Woods Mitchell Medal, as well as a cash award. |

Children’s Festival is designed to educate and entertain elementary and intermediate school students through a fascinating lineup of storytelling, music, dance and audience participation.
It showcases award-winning performers with a diverse assortment of performances, including puppetry, music, dance, theater, and the beauty of sign language and humor.
While acts entertain, they also incorporate important educational lessons into their material. Teachers’ curriculum guides are available from all artists to help integrate performance content with language arts, social studies, history, arts and music curricula. The Festival is a four-day event. The weekdays are strictly devoted to school field trips, while the weekend is open to the public. |

Through the Community Ticket Program, The Pavilion offers thousands of complimentary tickets for its performing arts events to economically challenged students and families within the Greater Houston area, as well as to numerous charities and senior citizen organizations every year. |

 |
The Community Share Program at The Pavilion allows other nonprofit organizations in the area to have a vendor booth at performing arts events throughout the season. The booth gives these organizations the chance to promote and create awareness for their cause. |
