13th Annual Children's Festival
School Day Performances
Thursday, Nov. 8 and Friday, Nov. 9

Thousands of students from numerous schools and districts throughout the Greater Houston area, including many private schools, will attend the 13th Annual Children's Festival at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Nov. 8 and 9 on school field trips. Award-winning children's performers educate and entertain students, most ranging from pre-K through the sixth grade.

We invite you and your students to a magical world learning is not only fun, but also awe-inspiring and eye-opening. Award-winning children's performers educate and entertain students, ranging from pre-K through sixth grade. It showcases renowned children's entertainers in a fascinating lineup of culturally diverse music, theater, puppetry, masks and movement, humor and original songs.

THE DETAILS:

Who: Students Pre-K through 6th grade

When: November 8 & 9, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Cost: $2 per student, per show for up to three shows (three shows = $6 per student)

* One teacher or chaperone is admitted FREE with every five paid students.
* Subsidized tickets are available for Title 1 schools. Call 281-210-1113 for details. A letter stating Title 1 status must accompany the reservation form if subsidized tickets are requested.

Who are the School Day performers?

This year's lineup of performers for the school days includes the educational and wacky Let's Go Science Show , the historical Story of the Lone Star State , the high-energy performance of Samputu and Ingeli , mask/movement artist Michael Cooper, award-winning musician Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players, and the exquisite puppetry of Hobey Ford . How can I attend?

All you need to do is fill out and send in the School Reservation Order Form (pdf of reservation form) . School days fill up quickly and space is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Reserve Your Spot at Children's Festival

•  Fill out the School Reservation Order Form. Be sure to include Show Alternates on your Order Form. Duplicate the form as necessary. Please fill out one Reservation Order Form per grade level.

(All Houston-area school districts have been invited and seating is limited. Reservations are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Performance capacity is strictly enforced. Please do not send any payment with your reservation request.)

•  An invoice confirming your reservation(s) will be sent to you via e-mail (or fax).

•  Return a copy of the invoice with your payment, or a District Purchase Order, by Nov. 1. Reservations cannot be guaranteed if payment is not received by Nov. 1.

•  Once payment is received, we will send you a packet that includes bus signs, parking and seating information, a site map and your performance schedule.

How does this relate to my classroom?

Curriculum connections include: cultural diversity, history, interaction, language arts/communications, masks, math, music, physical education/movement, puppetry, sciences, social studies and theater arts.
