This fun-filled production teaches students about gravity, air pressure, flight theory, gyroscopic properties, scientific method, static electricity and more, using theatrically based experiments and demonstrations. Audience interaction, great scenery and awesome illusions make this one science lesson students won't want to miss. Learning has never been so much fun!

“The Story of the Lone Star State ”

This original production by Houston 's award-winning children's theater takes a bite out of Texas history. From the Native Americans to NASA's astronauts, 600 years of Texas tales are told in 45 minutes. Audiences will learn about Indian folklore, Spanish exploration, Hispanic heritage, and the many cultures and peoples that have shaped our great state. Four actors play more than 50 roles and bring to life such colorful characters as Sam Houston, Santa Anna and James Bowie. Students experience a fantastic performance and become part of history as the unique InterActive Theater Company encourages them to volunteer on stage, answer questions and offer suggestions to the actors. Saddle up for the ride of your life!

Winner of puppetry's highest honor, the UNIMA Citation of Excellence, and recipient of three Jim Henson Foundation grants, Hobey Ford is known for excellence in puppetry performance and craft. Hobey's creation of the original rod puppets, the "Foamies," has earned him a place on stages across the world. “Foamies” are large animal puppets carved from blocks of foam. After studying each animal's characteristic movements, Hobey designs various control mechanisms to make the puppets themselves move in a life-like manner. Hobey's newest production, " Animalia, " uses his “Foamies” puppets to explore the magical world of animals and illustrate metamorphosis through puppetry.
